Pacific Highway
Divided highway from Grafton to the Queensland border, bypassing most towns and carrying freight and holiday traffic.
Bruxner Highway

Getting to work and around the region
Most trips are by car, since towns are spread out and buses are limited. Many Tweed residents work on the Gold Coast and cross the Queensland border every day, while Ballina, Byron and Lismore draw workers from the surrounding villages and hinterland.
Cycling. Hinterland roads around Byron, Bangalow and the Tweed valley are popular with road cyclists, and many are narrow with little or no shoulder.
