CTP Lawyer

1. General Information Only
Everything published on this website — including articles, guides, FAQs, and the results of our free claim check — is general information about the NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) injury scheme. It is written to help you understand how the scheme generally works. It does not take your individual circumstances into account and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified, independent lawyer, or from your own doctor or treating practitioner, about your own situation.
2. Not a Law Firm
CTP Lawyer is not a law firm. We do not employ solicitors or barristers, we are not regulated as a legal practice, and no one at CTP Lawyer is authorised to represent you in a legal matter. We do not use phrases like "our lawyers" or "our legal team" because there is no such team — where you see "lawyer" on this site, it means an independent, specialist CTP lawyer we may refer you to when your case calls for one, not someone employed or controlled by us. Many CTP claims never need a lawyer.
3. No Legal or Medical Advice
Nothing on this website, in our free claim check, or in any communication with our team constitutes legal advice or medical advice. We do not assess the merits of your claim, diagnose or assess your injuries, advise you on your legal rights or options or on your treatment, or tell you what you should do. If you need advice about your claim, speak with an independent CTP lawyer; for your health, speak with your doctor. We can refer you to either if you'd like. In an emergency, call 000.
4. No Guarantee of Outcomes
We make no promise or guarantee about the outcome of your CTP claim, the amount of any compensation, the timeframe for any claim, whether a lawyer will accept your matter or agree to act for you, whether any treatment will be approved or funded by the CTP insurer, or any health or recovery outcome. Every claim depends on its own facts, and past results — anyone else's — are never a reliable guide to what might happen in yours.
We do not promise that any lawyer we introduce you to will act on a "no win, no fee" basis. Where a lawyer offers this, ask them for a written costs disclosure that sets out exactly what it means for your matter.
5. Independent Lawyers and Healthcare Providers
Any lawyer we refer you to is an independent legal practitioner or law firm, not an employee, agent, or representative of CTP Lawyer. That lawyer is solely responsible for the advice they give you, the way they run your matter, their fees, and their compliance with their own professional and regulatory obligations.
Any doctor or allied health provider we refer you to (for example a physiotherapist, psychologist or exercise physiologist) is independent and solely responsible for their own assessment, advice and treatment, their fees, and their compliance with their own professional and registration obligations.
You choose whether to use any provider we refer you to. Any solicitor-client relationship exists only between you and your lawyer, and any doctor-patient or other treating relationship exists only between you and your practitioner — never between you and CTP Lawyer. We'll tell you if a provider we refer you to is connected with us.
6. Time Limits
The NSW CTP scheme has time limits that can affect your entitlements, and missing one can limit your options. Where this site mentions a time limit, it is general information and may not reflect every exception that could apply to your situation. If a deadline may be approaching or may have passed, get advice as soon as possible rather than relying on this site.
7. Currency of Information
The NSW CTP scheme changes from time to time — through legislation, regulation, and indexed dollar amounts. We aim to keep this site accurate, but we do not warrant that every figure, time limit, or rule is current at the time you read it. Always check SIRA or an independent lawyer for the rules that currently apply.
8. Third-Party Links
This site may link to third-party websites, including government agencies and other organisations, for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or accuracy of third-party sites.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CTP Lawyer excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information published on this site, except where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or other applicable law. This Disclaimer should be read together with our Terms of Service.
