Getting to work and around the region
Many Shire residents commute to the city, the airport or St George by train from Sutherland, Jannali, Miranda or Cronulla, or by car over the Tom Uglys and Captain Cook bridges. Peak-hour traffic builds on the Princes Highway, Taren Point Road and The Kingsway, and there are few alternatives when one route is blocked.
Motorcycling. Royal National Park roads such as Sir Bertram Stevens Drive and Lady Wakehurst Drive draw motorcyclists at weekends, with tight bends, bush on both sides and other visitors on the road.
Cycling. Road cyclists use the national park roads and The Kingsway corridor, and families ride the shared paths around Cronulla and Kurnell.
