Getting to work and around the region
Liverpool and Fairfield are both major employment centres, and many residents work locally in health, retail, logistics and manufacturing. Others drive to Parramatta and the city on the M5, the Hume Highway or the M4, or take trains from Liverpool, Cabramatta and Fairfield, which are busy interchanges at peak times.
Trucks and heavy vehicles. The Moorebank intermodal terminal and the Wetherill Park and Smithfield industrial areas generate heavy truck movements on the M5, the Cumberland Highway, The Horsley Drive and Elizabeth Drive.
Walking. Cabramatta's John Street and Freedom Plaza and Fairfield's shopping strips are crowded with people on foot, particularly on weekends.
