The clock starts on the day of the crash. Lodge within 28 days if you can, so weekly payments can be back-paid. A claim made up to 3 months later is still possible, though payments may only begin on the date you claim. Damages claims generally have a 3-year limit; lodge by the 2-year mark if you want weekly payments to be able to run past it. Not at first, in most cases. If the crash is also a work injury, you generally need to claim workers compensation through your employer's insurer first. That is a different scheme from CTP, and CTP statutory benefits are generally not payable where workers compensation is available.
